A letter to my ‘Friend’ (Dec 2023)

Can I ask you a question?

Why do you smile with deceit,

A faux friend's facade

Casting shadows on sincerity?

In those moments of whispered laughter,

The camaraderie feels as hollow

As the echoes of unspoken words.

Someone hates, without reason,

A phantom disdain that stains

The canvas of friendship.

Your perception of me, a funhouse mirror,

Reflects a distortion of truth,

Leaving me tangled in the cobwebs

Of your misguided judgments.

It's a kaleidoscope of confusion,

A hall of mirrors reflecting

A version of myself that I don't recognize.

Can I ask you a question?

Why would you want to share laughter and moments,

If they're wrapped in a cloak of indifference?

You tolerated my adoration

As if it were a pestilent thing,

A venomous serpent coiled

Around your fragile ego.

But adoration is no poison;

It's a bloom of genuine affection.

You should know that no person in America,

Has the right to treat another

With mere tolerance,

For tolerance carries the scent

Of assumed superiority,

A condescension that poisons

The roots of true connection.

You should know that before I could see through

Those deceitful smiles,

Before I could understand

The subtext underlying your every kind word,

I cherished the genuine warmth you brought,

Looking forward to those morning smiles

As if they were beams of sunlight.

You should know that my self-worth

Is unaltered by your skewed perceptions.

You do not change my value,

For I am more than the distorted image

Reflected in your mirrors.

And yet I stay, questioning,

Caught in the labyrinth of your emotional maze,

Hoping that sincerity will by chance replace

The mask you wear so well.

Idea (April 2015)

I come very big,

I come very small,

My symbol is a lightbulb.

If you’re not smart,

I don’t come at all,

If you are–then you have luck!

Sometimes I come like the wind,

And then just blow away-

Sometimes I take lots of time to come,

But when I come, I stay.

Butterflies Fly (May 2014)

When butterflies fly
When we love the stuff we have
We can do anything we want
Butterflies fly around
When the spring is near

We can do what
We like to do
When spring is here

We can be happy here
When flowers bloom in spring
We want the stuff we have
If we have watermelon
We can be the most juiciest  kids in the world
When we love it
We can float around
Like butterflies
And be happy
We fly around just like
Fairies and butterflies

We can do the stuff we want
We can do what we love
We have it for us

Butterflies float around like you
Because you are my butterfly
Said the mommy to her little girl

Ode to me - Song (Aug 2023)

Lie down

Close your eyes

It’ll be alright

It’ll be alright

Exhale

Read my eyes

It’ll be alright

Just hold yourself tight

I know

The weight of the world is no blessing

Pressed on your back like your backs to the wall but its not cause its breaking the walls are all breaking your likeness it’s shaking

I know

It’s hard to see shards of a mirror

Splayed on the ground like your meant to see something you tried to see something but broke things are better off gone

Little girls

Aren’t meant

To be holding their thoughts in a cage far away from the rest

Little girls

Are meant to be happy

Smiling and laughing

So take in a breath and

Lie down

Rest your eyes

It’ll be alright

I’ll be your guide

Exhale

All the lies

I’ll hold you tight

Through the night

And I see

You’re holding it in

All of that pressure who gave you this pressure

You the perfectionist always the sweetest little girl

Hide away from the bad bad wolves of the world

Find your peaceful in a maze

Leave your boulders they can stay

On their own

Lie down

Close your eyes

It’ll be alright

It’ll be alright

Let go

Of your pride

It’ll be alright

It’ll be alright
